Originally from France, this 3,000 liter French Oak Foeder (large oak barrel) was once used in the production of Cognac at a small chateau. Since then it has been re-coopered on contract by Rocky Mountain Barrel Company. Blindman Brewing (Lacombe, AB) has used this foeder over the past years to create mixed-ferment and mixed-culture beer. The foeder features stainless steel Tri-Clamp valves and fittings, sample port, and a new set of manway gaskets. It will also come with large dimension timber to rest upon in it’s new home.
